FIRST TIME IN VILNIUS?
Places to visit
Where to eat
Vilnius Days - this weekend is Vilnius' birthday! Gediminas prospect is the main street in the center and here you will see many small vendors selling everything from art, music, clothes, jewelry to food, quite a lot. In V. Kudirkos square, various music groups will play from 12 noon.
Stiklių street - a small street that is always decorated. On the street there is Augustas&Barbora cafe, where you can have a nice coffee and something small to eat or brunch.
Katedros square - main square of the Vilnius Old Town. You can go up to Gediminas Castle, there you have a beautiful view of the city.
If this view is not good enough for you - Three Crosses Monument is even higher.
Bernardinų sodas - nearby. A small, beautiful park where you can go for a walk.
Vilnius University - here you can see our university, in one of the several courtyards there is a church and a bell tower. You can go up here and then see the whole old town.
MO Museum - my favorite museum if you want to see some art. Modern and contemporary art.
Or just walk along the small streets (main streets - Vilnius Street, Pilies Street, Vokiečių Street (it's called German Street) and just get lost
Nice tasty little deserts! - Sugamour, Ali Šokoladinė
Augustas & Barbora - brunch, coffee, cakes
Coffee - Eskedar Coffee Bar, Backstage Cafe, Strange Love, Italala Cafe, Elska Coffee, etc. There are really a lot of places where you can find good coffee!
Panama Food Garden - lunch, also nice for a romantic meal (but book the table in the greenhouse)
Užupio picerija - for pizzas. General - Užupis is a small district with a small part of Bohemia.
Le Travi - Italian restaurant in Užupis. We have never been there ourselves, but everyone says that the food is very good
Le Mans - for brunch in Užupis
Amelie By Café Montmartre - coffee, you can also eat something. Nice corner.
The Urban Garden - brunch
Rotonda - brunch, lunch
Etno dvaras, Amatininkų užeiga - traditional Lithuanian cuisine. Wherever you decide to eat - try "Šaltibarščiai" - summer food of all Lithuanians
Food Hall - about 10 small restaurants in one place by the river (here you can find e.g. Spirgis with traditional Lithuanian dishes)
Recently - 4 restaurants received Michelin stars - "Džiaugsmas", "Demo", "Pas mus" and "Ninteen18"
